Round Lake Heights Fest
All Hot, and Wet!

WRLR photos by Bish Krywko

The WRLR Dunk Tank at the Round Lake Heights Fest was a great success due in great part to these young volunteers pictures above: (L to R) Sara Abeseth, Round Lake Heights; Aneaka Lewis, Waukegan; Meagan Baran, Round Lake Heights; Jamie Kontaxis, Round Lake Heights; Austin Kowalski, Grayslake; Michaela Murphy, City of McHenry; Jasmine Castillo, Round Lake Heights; Mykenzi Strohman, Round Lake Heights; Veronica Leistner, Round Lake Heights.

Office Manager George Buchardt (right) manned the BMO Harris Bank sponsored dunk tank table all day and was assisted by Program Director Cheryl Dunlap (producer and host of "Soul Suite") and Chris Zimmerman (producer and host of "Something Different"). Young people, including WRLR's very own intern Mecca King, volunteered to sit in the dunk tank and also encouraged fest goers to stop by and make a donation to throw three balls for a dollar.
WRLR broadcast from the event for more than 10 hours. The "Lepek & Company" crew (right, l to r) Alison MoranPaul Lepek and Angie Cook) at the 98.3 broadcast table located next to the main stage.

Although not quite August, it was a dog-day-afternoon with one of many who stopped by to talk and be interviewed being Mr. `Take a bit out of crime' McGruff (pictured below with Angie Cook). The station's other canine friend, Nadja, also visited and even learned a new trick dunking intern Mecca King at the ABC Rental dunk tank.
